This ash tree had reached the end of its life. You could see it clearly - bare, dead branches mixed in with whatever green was left, the whole canopy starting to fail. A tree like that sitting over a home and close to the street is not something you want to leave alone.

When a tree is this far gone and positioned this close to structures, we bring in the crane. It's the right call. Trying to climb and section a dead, brittle tree by hand introduces a lot of unnecessary risk - both to the crew and to the property below. The crane lets us lift large sections out cleanly, with control over exactly where they go.

That's really the key word here - control. Dead wood doesn't behave the way healthy wood does. It can snap unpredictably. Having the crane in the equation means we're not guessing. Each piece comes down on our terms, not the tree's.

The lift works alongside the crane to give our climbers safe access to the upper canopy without depending on branches that may not hold. It's a team effort between equipment and crew, and when it all comes together, a job that looks complicated from the outside actually runs pretty smoothly. Homeowners are often surprised by how efficient it is.

Once it's done, the risk is gone. The house is protected. The yard is clear. That's what this kind of work is really about - getting ahead of a problem before it becomes an emergency.
